그늘 쌓기는 그래픽 디자이너 오혜진과 함께 작업한 설치물이다. <2018 서울 포커스: 행동을 위한 디자인> 전시 일부로서, 서울시립 북서울미술관 야외공간에 설치되었다. 더운 여름, 아이들이 좋아하는 분수대 공간 주변에 작업을 계획하여, 더욱더 활기찬 공간을 조성하고자 하였다. 각기 다른 패턴과 색상의 아크릴 패널을 단순하고 얇은 철봉이 지지하는 형태이다. 이렇게 겹쳐진 아크릴 패널은 색색의 그늘을 만들어낸다. 해가 내리쬐는 여름날 아이들은 다양한 패턴과 색상의 그림자 아래를 지나다니며 공간을 경험하게 된다.

IW-MW have collaborated with the graphic designer Hezin O. The installation was set up in the outdoor public space of the Buk Seoul Museum of Art as part of the exhibition 2018 Seoul Focus: Design for Action. One of the children’s beloved areas during the summer time is the fountain. The installation aims to provide extra playfulness with or without the operation of water sprinkling. Simple thin steel columns are holding the overlapping acrylic panels which have different colors and patterns. The acrylic panels create colorful shadows which overlap with each other. On a sunny day, children can experience the space together with the playful shadows exposed to them.
